New Mexico Mobilizes for Marriage Equality
September 23, 2013 by Marty Rouse, National Field Director
Last week I traveled to Albuquerque and Sante Fe to meet with allied organizations working for marriage equality in New Mexico.
The ACLU, Equality New Mexico, and Progress Now New Mexico have been working hard to assure that all New Mexican gay and lesbian couples will one day be able to marry.
HRC recently hired two organizers to mobilize support for marriage equality across the state. They’ll be working with our friends at Equality New Mexico.
After the New Mexico Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the ACLU/National Center for Lesbian Rights’ lawsuit that will determine access to marriage across the state, there will be renewed attention to marriage equality across the state.
HRC organizers Marshall Martinez and Leigh Durham will make sure that supporters of marriage equality have their voices heard.
