New Mainers United Ad: Family Values Are Taught at Home
October 26, 2012 by Matt McTighe
Matt McTighe is the campaign manager for Mainers United for Marriage, the campaign working to win marriage equality in Maine.
In the newest ad from Mainers United for Marriage, Amy and Rob of Fairfield talk about why they believe gay and lesbian couples should have the freedom to marry.
“When it comes to same-sex marriage, we want our children to know that all loving, committed couples should be able to get married,” says Rob in the ad.
“What we do in a school is no substitute for what happens at home. That’s where family values come in,” says Amy, who has been a teacher for 15 years.
“No law is going to change the core values we teach our kids here at home,” says Rob.

No matter where you live, you can make a difference in Maine. HRC has set up a special fund – HRC Maine Families PAC – to direct 100 percent of your contribution to help win marriage equality in Maine. Together, we can mobilize the majority of Mainers who support marriage equality and win at the ballot this November.
