New Jersey United for Marriage Montclair officeLast Thursday, New Jersey United for Marriage (NJUM) celebrated the opening of its northern-most office in Montclair.

More than 100 supporters attended the event, including HRC Steering committee members Roger Rosen, Gary Hilbert and Chris Fasser. The evening presented a great opportunity for supporters to meet the field organizers they will be working with over the course of the campaign and to learn what they can do to ensure we override Governor Christie’s marriage veto this year.

Following remarks from NJUM's staff, the crowd visited different rooms in the office to learn more about campaign specifics from the statewide program directorand the in-district and volunteer organizer teams. Field staff and supporters discussed campaign needs and volunteer opportunities, including phone banks, canvassing, letters to their legislators, contributing donations, and supporter housing for the volunteers and staff traveling from out of the state.

HRC currently has a team of five talented organizers working on the ground with New Jersey United for Marriage.
