New Hampshire Votes Against Ending Marriage Equality
February 18, 2010
Great news from the Granite State... yesterday, the New Hampshire House overwhelmingly voted down two bills aimed at ending marriage equality – one explicitly repealing the marriage legislation and the other to amend the state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. The vote to repeal marriage equality was 109 to 210 and the vote on the constitutional amendment was 135 to 201. HRC was proud to partner with the New Hampshire Freedom to Marry Coalition last year in working to pass the landmark legislation. Our field organizers shared stories from the road in this blog posting and photo galleries from the campaign are here and here. A special thank you is deserved to our members who took action this time around in the fight to preserve last year's historic advance.
