Nebraska Vets Urge DADT Repeal at Senate District Offices
April 7, 2010
This week, five Nebraska veterans met with Senator Ben Nelson’s regional staff in Omaha. The group included gay and straight veterans from the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as a parent of an active duty Airman. Together they had served for more than 60 years. Each veteran shared their experience in the Armed Forces and asked that “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” be repealed this year. Most of the veterans who attended the meeting will travel to Washington, D.C. on May 11th for the National Veterans Lobby Day on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." If you are a veteran, you are encouraged to complete this online survey. To let your Senators know that you support the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” or to set up your own local meeting visit HRC’s DADT Take Action Page.
