MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts to Wed Longtime Partner
August 9, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Associate
MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts will wed his longtime partner in the fall, making him the first cable news anchor to marry a person of the same sex.
Roberts has been with partner Patrick Abner for 12 years. In 2006, Roberts was the first cable news anchor to publically come out, opening doors for other high-profile out anchors like Rachel Maddow, Don Lemon and Anderson Cooper.
All the best to Roberts and Abner! You can learn more about HRC’s marriage equality work across the country by visiting our new Marriage Center, a one-stop shop for marriage equality news, maps and polling.
