Momentum Builds in ‘Free State’ of Maryland

The push for marriage equality in Maryland is ramping up as field staff and dedicated volunteers do the grassroots work it takes to win. The new coalition, Marylanders for Marriage Equality, which includes HRC, is speaking with a unified and diverse voice to get the job done.
Last night Progressive Maryland, another coalition partner, hosted our first phone bank. Joined by outstanding volunteers Barbara, John, Dave, and Nik from the Montgomery County Young Democrats, we were able to activate and inform supporters and recruit volunteers. Of those we spoke to over 60% committed to calling their legislator –with more committing to the cause and signing up to volunteer.
It’s clear advocates and supporters of marriage equality are going to stand up, get involved and get it done. Will you join us?
