Momentum Building for Rhode Island Marriage

Last night on the eve of St. Patrick’s Day here in the Ocean State, volunteers for marriage equality turned out for our most successful phone bank yet.

Having been on the ground for only a week, we’re starting to see volunteers show up in larger numbers – which is good, since we could see action in the RI House as soon as next week.  Volunteers made phone calls to voters in Rep. Marcello’s district and the response was overwhelmingly positive and uplifting.

Ray Sullivan, the Campaign Director for Marriage Equality Rhode Island said it best: "The time for treating all Rhode Islanders equally under the law is now. We have the opportunity to correct a glaring injustice in our state, and we need to activate and mobilize supporters of equality to make it happen.  Come join our team!" Join us at one of these upcoming volunteer opportunities, and help us send a message to the legislature that it’s time to provide equal rights to gay and lesbian couples.

If you're unable to volunteer in person (or even if you can), please send a message to your legislators asking them to support marriage equality!
