Today Major League Baseball will announce a new agreement to expand its existing anti-discrimination policy to include sexual orientation.  

Under the new policy, the league will create and distribute a workplace code of conduct to all major and minor league players, provide training sessions, and create a centralized complaint system to report incidents of harassment and discrimination.  

"Our national pastime is showing national leadership in the fight to promote equal justice for all," said New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who helped to draft the agreement, to The Associated Press.

Earlier this year, Schneiderman also called on the National Football League to enact a non-discrimination that is aligned with New York employment discrimination laws.

The league is scheduled to join the player’s union and Schneiderman to announce the policy today during All-Star Game festivities.
