MLB Pitcher Speaks Out Against Homophobic “Kiss Cam” Gag
April 20, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Coordinator
Brandon McCarthy of the Oakland A’s has taken to twitter, calling out a homophobic running gag at ballparks across the country.
The MLB pitcher blasted “kiss cam” operators for featuring two – presumably straight – men on the Angels Stadium big screen yesterday. The joke, of course, rests in the intended discomfort of making two men kiss.

It’s great to see a professional athlete calling out homophobia in such a public way. You can join the chorus of appreciative followers by tweeting your thanks @BMcCarthy32.
