Miss Indiana Supports Repeal of DADT
April 21, 2010
The following post comes from HRC Organizer Adrian Matanza:
This weekend out in Indianapolis, Scott, Brian and I showed our support for repealing “Don't Ask, Don't Tell” and for finding a cure for breast cancer. With thousands in attendance at the walk, the three of us wore our DADT t-shirts (my outfit of choice for the last three weeks) to make sure all of the runners and walkers knew we wanted repeal THIS YEAR. Many of the walkers and runners stopped to sign a postcard and call Senator Bayh's office urging repeal. I ran into Miss Indiana, Allison Lynn Biehle, and she supports repeal too! She was kind enough to sign a postcard and wanted to know how else she can get involved.
Before Nick headed out to West Virginia to continue repeal efforts out there, he and I joined our Hoosier veteran leaders when they met with Senator Bayh's district director. He listened to each of the veteran's stories and told us he would make sure the Senator heard our concerns. This week, we'll be continuing our efforts in Indiana talking to students before they head out for summer. We'll be out in West Lafayette on the Purdue University campus for a film screening. Join us!
'Ask Not' Film Screening in Downtown West Lafayette Date: April 28th Time: 7pm-9pm Location: Pride Lafayette Community Center - 640 Main Street For more information, contact Adrian Matanza at [email protected] or 702.241.0211
