Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton Discusses Marriage Equality Victory on MSNBC
May 15, 2013 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Coordinator
Fresh off of signing marriage equality into law, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton joined Lawrence O’Donnell on The Last Word to discuss the victory and the North Star State’s proud history of standing on the “forefront of progressive social change.”
With the governor’s signature yesterday afternoon, Minnesota became the 12th state alongside D.C. to provide equal access to civil marriage for gay and lesbian couples. Same-sex marriage will take effect in Minnesota on August 1, 2013.
Minneapolis’ I-35W bridge glowed with rainbow lights last night in recognition of the victory.
