Minnesota: Biggest Phone Bank Yet!
February 29, 2012 by Guest contributor
The following post comes from Leah Solo, Coalitions Committee Chair, Minnesotans United for All Families:
Here in Minnesota, our phone banks have been full with volunteers since we started phone calling in January. That being said, at the second HRC sponsored night, we tested the limits of our office space when 53 callers showed up!
Callers came from HRC, Episcopalians United for All Families, and from recruiting by Minnesotans United for All Families organizers. HRC’s 15 callers was almost double the number of member volunteers present from our first night of calling.
As people continued to flood in and our expanded office filled up, we started quickly figuring out how to ensure that we could accommodate everyone.
Though we have 11 offices, many common spaces, and two conference rooms, we were still tight on space for callers. Our innovative volunteers, however, were determined to make it work somehow. The pictures of this night speak for themselves as to how we still talked to voters, despite bursting at the seams.
This was a tremendous second night of HRC calling in Minnesota!
