Minneapolis Mayor to Wisconsin Same-Sex Couples: “Marry in Minnesota”

Today in Wisconsin, Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Ryback has expanded his campaign calling on loving, committed same-sex couples to marry in Minnesota.
The new campaign, launched today at news conferences in Milwaukee and Madison, built on Ryback’s earlier pitch on Friday to couples in Chicago, Illinois. He was joined today by Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele and Madison Mayor Paul Soglin, who support of marriage equality in Wisconsin.
The "Marry in Minneapolis" campaign aims to capitalize on the economic benefits that marriage equality brings to states with laws on the books.
In Minnesota, it’s estimated that marriage equality will bring $45 million to the state through increased spending on wedding and tourism businesses and through a rise in total state and local tax revenue.
Currently, 13 states plus the District of Columbia, have marriage equality on the books.
