Massachusetts’ Katherine Clark Wins Democratic Nomination for U.S. House
October 16, 2013 by Marty Rouse, National Field Director
Yesterday Katherine Clark emerged as the Democratic victor in the Massachusetts race for the U.S. House of Representatives, beating out HRC-endorsed Carl Sciortino.
While his voice is much needed on Capitol Hill, we are confident Clark will also fight for fairness should she win the general election.
Clark has a very positive record on issues of LGBT equality, and is heavily favored to win the special general election on December 10, 2013. HRC looks forward to working with her on key issues in Congress, such as the passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and the full repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act.
