Marylanders for Marriage Equality Coalition Surpasses 200 Partners
October 25, 2012 by David Contreras Turley, Senior Regional Field Organizer
David Turley has been working with Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the campaign working to defend marriage equality at the ballot box in November. David serves as the campaign's Coalition Director, has been in Maryland for 14 months and works alongside more than 10 HRC employees who are embedded in the Maryland campaign for marriage equality.
The Marylanders for Marriage Equality coalition recently reached another milestone when our 200th partner signed on!
Our diverse coalition partners include faith groups, labor support, civil rights organizations and law practices. The NAACP and Asian-American and Latino groups are among our supporters.
What’s more – all of these groups represent hundreds of thousands of members from across the state. And these groups and their members have been helping in a big way by spreading our message about marriage equality through canvassing, phone banking and more. This is even more crucial as November 6 approaches.
And it’s yet another sign that momentum for marriage equality is building in the Free State.
The full list of coalition partners is available on the Marylanders for Marriage Equality website. We are welcoming new groups to the coalition nearly every day - please join us!
HRC has set up a special fund to direct 100 percent of your contribution today to defend the marriage equality law in Maryland. HRC is a founding member and leader of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the coalition campaign working to defend marriage in the Free State, and your contribution will support the coalition's efforts and count toward your HRC membership.
