Marylanders for Marriage Equality Reaches More Than 100 Coalition Partners!
August 29, 2012 by HRC staff
The following post comes from Conor O’Day, Deputy Coalition Director for Marylanders for Marriage Equality:
Marylanders for Marriage Equality is excited to report that we now have more than 100 coalition partners across the state that have joined our campaign efforts to protect marriage equality! We have a diverse coalition of labor, faith, business, and civil liberties groups urging fellow Marylanders to vote FOR Question 6 on the November ballot, protecting marriage for gay and lesbian couples.
Some of these organizations include the Maryland Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the League of Women Voters, the ACLU, HRC, and the NAACP. Our bi-partisan coalition has increased rapidly in the last month, welcoming more than 40 new members since early July. Just last Saturday, our partners participated in a coordinated day of action where we knocked on over 10,000 doors with MORE THAN 200 volunteers across the state.
