Maryland Senate to Debate on Marriage Equality This Week
February 22, 2011 by Adrian Matanza, Senior Regional Field Organizer
This week, the Maryland state senate is set begin debate on the Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Protection Act. Last week, the bill passed the Senate Judiciary Proceedings committee with a vote of 7 to 4 in favor of marriage equality. With 24 senators publicly declaring their support, we are hopeful that the bill will pass out of the Senate and be another step closer to equality for all Marylanders. We'll be in Annapolis this week to watch history and across the state working mobilize our thousands of members and supporters to take action to support equality. If you want to get involved in making marriage equality for all Marylanders a reality, contact me at [email protected].
