October 26, 2012 by Sultan Shakir, Director of Youth and Campus Outreach
Mayor Michael Bloomberg joined Governor Martin O'Malley and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake this evening to demonstrate the strong bipartisan support for marriage equality. As a Mayor in a state where marriage equality has been passed by the legislature, Mayor Bloomberg has seen the benefits of treating gay and lesbian couples fairly and equally and stands here today to ask voters to vote for Question 6.
In Maryland, early voting starts on Saturday, Oct 17th at 10 am. For a list of early voting locations, visit http://www.elections.state.md.us/voting/early_voting_sites.html.
HRC has set up a special fund to direct 100 percent of your contribution today to defend the marriage equality law in Maryland. HRC is a founding member and leader of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the coalition campaign working to defend marriage in the Free State, and your contribution will support the coalition's efforts and count toward your HRC membership.
