Martin Luther King Day: A Day-On, Not a Day Off

HRC's MLK Day of Service Volunteers Each year Americans honor the legacy of Dr. King by donating time on the federal holiday to serve their neighbors and communities. This year, join HRC and partnering organizations in 17 cities across the country to serve LGBT homeless youth.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is the only federal holiday observed as a national day of service – a “day on, not a day off.”

At HRC, we believe that we have a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of our LGBT youth, who make up 40 percent of homeless and at-risk youth. To help us in our mission on January 20, find an event near you.
