Marriage Equality Bill Comes to Washington State House
February 8, 2012 by Guest contributor
This post comes from Halei Watkins, one of HRC’s organizers in Washington State.
With a pending vote on the marriage equality bill in the Washington State House of Representatives, the State Legislative Building is buzzing with excitement. Last week, SB6239 cleared the State Senate and is now being considered in the State House. After months of hard work and delivering over 25,000 postcards in favor of marriage equality, I am thrilled and honored to be a part of such a historic day in my home state. Same-sex couples across the state will soon be able to experience the honor and commitment that they deserve. If you can’t join us in Olympia, make sure to watch the action live.
It’s not too late to send your state representative a message in support of marriage equality. Click here to send your letter.
