Marie Osmond Supports Marriage Equality

Friday Marie Osmond subtly broke ranks with some of her family members by taking a stand for marriage equality.

Marie Osmond, who has a lesbian daughter, sat down with Diane Sawyer on Friday’s airing of ABC’s World News to talk about her latest memoir.

"The God I believe in is a God of love," said Osmond, who is a Mormon.  "I believe in [my daughters] civil rights, as a mother. I believe my daughter deserves everything she desires in life..."

Some members of Osmond family participated in an anti-marriage equality rally in Utah last Tuesday, while the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in two key marriage equality cases.
