Lobbying for Equality in Santa Fe

Today, hundreds of New Mexico residents are in Santa Fe, the state capitol to talk to their legislators face to face about what matters most. Currently, gay and lesbian couples in New Mexico are able to marry the person they love but a few New Mexico lawmakers are working to repeal these rights. With about three weeks left on the legislative session, HRC is proud to be working alongside New Mexico Unites for Marriage as a founding partner and Equality New Mexico, during this annual lobby day.
SJR6 seeks to place a constitutional amendment up to a vote of the people, repealing marriage equality in New Mexico. HRC organizers have been on the ground since September of last year, working to make sure these rights aren’t taken away. As we’re here in Santa Fe, talking to our legislators, you can make your voice hear, too, by sending a message to your legislators in the state by clicking here.
