Join the Fight to Win Marriage Equality!

This post comes from HRC Editorial and Digital Media Intern Leanne Naramore:
If you’ve ever wanted to play a direct role in achieving equal rights for LGBT Americans, the United for Marriage campaign is recruiting volunteers.
Earlier this month, HRC, Freedom to Marry, and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Action Fund joined forces to launch the campaign. The goal? Rally volunteers to fight for equal marriage rights for same-sex couples in Maine, Washington, Minnesota and Maryland this November.
There are two main ways you can get involved, both of which give you the opportunity to make a direct, hands-on impact in these elections:
Volunteer Vacation: For a week or more, travel to Maine, Maryland, Minnesota or Washington. Upon arrival, you'll receive a full orientation and training, and then work with a dedicated team on a campaign to win marriage equality.
Drive for Marriage: If you’re unable to volunteer for an entire week but can travel to a state for a weekend or day trip, drive (or catch a ride with other volunteers) to join a campaign for a briefer period of time.
Supporters of equal marriage rights are traveling from all over the country to work on these campaigns leading up to the November elections. United for Marriage is driven by dedicated volunteers who are playing an absolutely crucial role in securing equality for LGBT Americans.
