Join HRC and SpeakeasyDC for a special Pride Week performance of “Born This Way” on Wednesday, June 4th at 6:30pm at HRC National Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Named the "gold standard" in storytelling by The Washington Post, SpeakeasyDC has been entertaining audiences in Washington, DC since 1997. Their success lies in their ability to turn good stories into great performances, with six storytellers performing heartfelt and humorous true stories on a common theme.

For Pride Week, HRC and SpeakeasyDC present "Born This Way: Stories about Queer Culture in America," showcasing a range of perspectives from the LGBT community and their allies. All of the stories shed light on the challenges and triumphs that we’ve endured and enjoyed, from forbidden love to fumbling “first times.”

Audiences laugh, cringe and – most of all – relate to the universal search for belonging and self-discovery. Your ticket purchase includes an annual membership to HRC and proceeds benefit HRC and Capital Pride. A reception with cash bar begins at 6:30pm, the performance will begin at 7:30pm.

The event includes strong language and sexual content – it is recommended for adults only.
