Jarrett Barrios Named New GLAAD President

Great news for the community - former Mass. State Senator and longtime equality advocate Jarrett Barrios has been named the new president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. GLAAD does fantastic work changing hearts and minds through the media and Barrios is a great choice to lead their team. As a State Senator he's been a passionate advocate not only as a leader in fighting the effort to end marriage equality in Massachusetts but also personalizing the issue by taking to the floor to deliver a touching speech about the discrimination faced by his family. Also of note, he is fluent in both English and Spanish and will be a great spokesperson for LGBT people among the Hispanic community.
