Jane Lynch on Mitt Romney: GOP Hopeful “Does Not Know How to Relate”
February 29, 2012 by HRC staff
The following post comes from HRC Digital Media Intern Eric Cameron:
Actress Jane Lynch had the chance to chat with GOP hopeful Mitt Romney over the weekend and wasn’t much impressed.
According to Politico, the “Glee” star ran into the Republican presidential candidate on Sunday at a pre-NASCAR event in Daytona Beach, Fla. “It was like small talk, but he didn’t really hear a word I said,” says Lynch. “It affirmed for me that the guy does not know how to relate to people.”
Lynch, who married partner Lara Embry in 2010, calls herself a “huge fan” of President Obama and doesn’t seem worried about him losing to any of the current Republican candidates. “I don’t think the GOP has found itself,” she says. “I think it’s a party that’s having a huge identity crisis.”
Romney’s presidential campaign continues to make ground after yesterday’s primary victories in Michigan and Arizona. Rick Santorum’s campaign, on the other hand, continues to falter – another clear indication that his extremist social conservatism and anti-LGBT rhetoric are out of step with mainstream American values.
