In an unprecedented show of support for LGBT people, Iran's Queen of Pop, Googoosh, has released a music video for her latest song Behesht (Heaven), featuring a lesbian couple.
The video was released on her Facebook page on Valentine's Day and portrays tribulations of a same-sex couple, banned both by society and by their families. The video has received more than 100,000 views on You-Tube.
Googoosh is a veteran entertainer and has starred in a number of Iranian movies made between 1950 and 1970. The 63-year-old is the first artist and public figure in the Iranian country to show this kind of support for the LGBT community in the Islamic nation.
Under Sharia Law, Iran imposes the death penalty for homosexuality.
