May 17, 2012 by Dan Rafter, Online Campaigns Manager
Today is the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO) and a time to raise awareness about the basic human rights that members of our community – whether they identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transexual, intersex, queer – are denied in countries around the world. Learn more about activities underway today, and the history behind IDAHO.
To commemorate IDAHO, HRC is today hosting The Road to Safety: Strengthening Protection of LGBTI Refugees in Uganda and Kenya by Human Rights First. The event is taking place today at 3:30pm at HRC’s D.C. headquarters – you can attend in person or stream it live online at www.hrc.org/equalitytalks.
HRC’s Call It Out initiative seeks to eradicate homophobia and transphobia. Learn more about how you can get involved and make a difference.
