In Illinois, Freedom Unites, Not Divides, Us
August 29, 2013 by Lynne Bowman, Regional Field Director
While marching in August at the 84th annual Bud Billiken Parade, the Illinois Unites for Marriage campaign asked attendees why they believe in marriage equality. One thing was clear: in Illinois, freedom is a value that unites us, not divides us. You'll want to watch the campaign’s new video below:
HRC is a proud member of the Illinois Unites for Marriage campaign and since January, we have been working to secure marriage equality in the state. Through significant on-the-ground field and faith resources, we are helping to mobilize supporters from priority districts across the state to show the legislature that Illinoisans strongly support the freedom to marry for all couples.
