Illinois Senate Executive Committee Passes Marriage Equality

Post submitted by Lynne Bowman, HRC Regional Field Director

Moments ago, the Senate Executive Committee passed the SB110, the Religious Freedom and Marriage Equality Act, out of committee on a vote of 9 to 5.

Senate President John Cullerton, a leading supporter of the legislation, has announced he will call the floor vote on February 14.

Make sure President Cullerton has your Senator’s support when he calls the vote on marriage!

HRC is a proud member of the Illinois Unites for Marriage campaign working with nearly fifteen field organizers and an incredible team of organizers, volunteers and activists in the state.  With a vote expected in the Senate and a vote in the House expected soon after, we are working tirelessly to make Illinois the tenth state to recognize marriage equality.
