HRC’s Donna Payne Named Top Mover and Shaker by ‘The Root’

HRC’s Associate Director of Diversity Donna Payne has just been named one of the Top 19 Black LGBT Movers and Shakers by The Root.
For over a decade at HRC, Donna has forged and strengthened relationships between LGBT people, the African American community and communities of faith. Her pioneering work for LGBT inclusion and equality has been recognized by multiple leading LGBT and civil rights organizations, including a recent award from the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network. In 2009 Donna was named one of The Root’s Top 100 African American leaders.
Other Movers and Shakers on the list include Push author Sapphire, CNN anchor Don Lemon, comedian Wanda Sykes and Pariah filmmaker Dee Rees.
