HRC’s DC Phone Banks Back In Action

1-14 phonebankRecent setbacks serve as a powerful reminder that we’ve got plenty of work to do and there’s no time like the present to do it.  Tomorrow night in DC, January 21, is the perfect opportunity for you to join other socially-conscious and like-minded individuals to volunteer with HRC and catch a glimpse of what’s happening on the ground with the LGBT equality movement. Last year, the House of Representatives did not take up of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act and unfortunately allowed workplace discrimination to bleed over into another year –  it is unacceptable to continue to deny basic employment protections to the LGBT community in 2010.  That’s where you can make a difference… Come do your part in the equality movement in a very meaningful way – by calling our members and asking them to contact their member of Congress about their support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act.  Have a good time, meet great people and discover an easy and enjoyable way to volunteer … it’s like 3 resolutions in 1! Food, phones and fun are provided, as long as you let us know you’re coming.  Contact monica.keyes@hrc.org with any questions or to RSVP.
