HRC Volunteers Walk for a Cure in South Florida
March 16, 2009
Volunteers for HRC in South Florida completed a 10K walk in support of the Florida AIDS Walk in Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday. A passionate volunteer team of 20 came together to raise $4,100 to benefit AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Gay and Lesbian Community Center of South Florida, Broward Human Rights Initiative, and Pet Project. Florida AIDS Walk is produced by Event 360 for AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to HIV/AIDS prevention, education, accessible healthcare, research and patient advocacy. In Florida, AHF currently serves more than 10,000 people living with HIV/AIDS. Securing adequate funding for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, research and housing and ensuring scientifically sound national HIV/AIDS policy remain top priorities for the Human Rights Campaign. HRC’s volunteers in South Florida are committed to participating in this important work.
