HRC Recognized in ‘Hill’ List of Top Lobbying Victories of 2013

A recent list of top lobbying victories of 2013, published in The Hill, recognizes the Human Rights Campaign for its successful efforts toward passing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) in the U.S. Senate last month.
Earlier this year HRC was a leader in the bipartisan campaign that resulted in the U.S. Senate’s passage of ENDA – a historic step toward achieving workplace protections for all LGBT Americans.
For two decades, HRC’s deep bench of policy experts and advocates have engaged with lawmakers in both parties about the critical importance of passing ENDA.
These face-to-face meetings with legislators and their staffs were partnered with a 12-week grassroots education and mobilization effort this fall, generating more than 260,000 constituent contacts to key Senators demonstrating that constituents on both sides of the aisle support workplace protections.
Right now, House Republicans are refusing to act on the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, despite overwhelming support by the majority of Americans. HRC will continue fighting to ensure that the momentum from ENDA’s strong, bipartisan passage in the Senate continues.
