HRC Participates at the 10th Annual NGLCC National Business & Leadership Conference

HRC was a proud sponsor and participant at the 2013 National Gay and Lesbian National Business & Leadership Conference held this week in Dallas, TX. The conference is designed to meet the interests and needs of corporate partners, LGBT-certified business owners and entrepreneurs, allied companies and National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce affiliate chambers from around the country.
Meghan Stabler, a member of HRC Board of Directors, was honored at the event with NGLCC’s Women’s Leadership Award for her work across the country to advance transgender equality and women’s rights.
Meghan also keynoted the Workplace Equality Luncheon for NGLCC Corporate Partners where she discussed trans issues in the workplace and offered practical advice on what businesses could to do incorporate trans inclusion in to their policies and practices. She laid out detailed information on current legislation and rulings that impact the trans community, including the recent EEOC Title VII ruling on Macy v. Holder.
HRC’s Chief Diversity Officer Cuc Vu, participated in the NGLCC Luncheon Plenary along with Wanda Brackins, Head, Wealth Management Global Diversity, RBC Wealth Management and Karyn Twaronite, Americas Inclusiveness Officer and Partner, EY, to discuss how diversity and inclusion (D&I) is a market-driven business imperative. The panel discussed the way they’ve created fully inclusive and fully engaged corporate and organizational cultures that drive strong bottom lines. This session was moderated by Jennifer Brown Jennifer Brown, Founder and CEO of Jennifer Brown Consulting.
