HRC Makes a Splash in Historic Fire Island Pines
August 5, 2013 by HRC staff
This August HRC will open a temporary retail location in the historic Fire Island Pines. Located in the heart of one of the most well-known LGBT summer destinations, the HRC pop-up shop will offer visitors a unique opportunity to support the organization’s work for nationwide LGBT equality. The shop will be open for business from August 9th-August 19th in the Botel next to the Blue Whale in Fire Island Pines. In addition, HRC will soon unveil its limited-edition Red Wagon tank top and Boardwalk swimsuit, exclusively for the Fire Island location.
Visitors will also be treated to a new view as they approach Fire Island by ferry. For the first time, the iconic Blue Whale will raise two HRC flags alongside their traditional rainbow flags.
Available for a $25 contribution to HRC, the limited-edition Red Wagon tank features the iconic Fire Island a red wagon on a super-soft cotton-blend tank. Available for a $75 contribution are the limited-edition Boardwalk square cut swimsuits, designed exclusively for HRC. In sizes SM-2X, the tank and swimsuit set is a perfect way to remember 2013 - the summer of equality. In addition, the pop-up shop will feature a number of other membership premiums including equality sunglasses, beach towels, and select Love Conquers Hate items.
HRC has previously opened pop-up locations in Palm Springs, CA; Chicago, IL; New York City; Rehoboth Beach, DE; Charlotte, NC and New Orleans, LA.
