HRC in Oklahoma City

This post comes from Barry Robertson, Membership Outreach Co-chair for the DFW Steering Committee:

This summer the Dallas/Fort Worth Steering Committee is taking Pride on the road. Their pride season started on May 19 in Oklahoma City. This was the second consecutive year that HRC had a presence at the OKC Pride Festival. This year the festival moved to Film Row in downtown Oklahoma City, making the event more family friendly. A larger crowd attended and had the opportunity to learn about HRC and our work.  Signatures on our support marriage equality petitions increased as more people heard HRC's message.

In a city where there is no steering committee present, it was great to see 24 dedicated, excited volunteers staffing the booth and promoting HRC. Check out some of the shots on the front page of the HRC Pride website, where you can also learn more about this campaign and upload your own photos and stories. While there, we also encourage you to search the listing of events HRC is participating in and sign up to volunteer with HRC at Pride!
