HRC hosted a packed event looking at the current landscape of the fight for equality at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte earlier today at the Google space.
The discussion, moderated by the Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart, featured a variety of perspectives on how our movement has made gains in culture, in the political arena, and as part of the broader progressive community. HRC President Chad Griffin was joined by NAACP President Ben Jealous, actress and American for Marriage Equality participant Aisha Tyler, journalist Campbell Brown, and pollster Anna Greenberg.
Following the panel discussion, the Victory Fund and HRC hosted a luncheon honoring the record-breaking number of LGBT delegates at this year’s convention. First Lady Michelle Obama, fresh off of her well-received speech to the convention last night, attended the luncheon. Check back here shortly for coverage from that exciting event.
