At an event that coincided with the International AIDS Conference here in Washington DC, HRC honored Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Sir Elton John for their enormous efforts battling HIV/AIDS worldwide.

During her remarks, Sec. Clinton discussed her family’s longtime friendship with HRC President Chad Griffin – an Arkansas native and veteran of her husband’s Administration.
Other notable guests in attendance included Sir Elton John, Sharon Stone, Sean Avery, Andrea Mitchell, Dr. Mathilde Krim, White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Rep. Tammy Baldwin, Judith Light, Ambassador Capricia Marshall, Charyl Mills, Bruce Bastian, Kris Balderston, David Bryan and cast members from his Broadway musical, “Memphis,” Hudson Taylor, Scott Campbell and Anne Aslett, among others.
