HRC Honors Martin Luther King, Jr.
January 15, 2013 by Maureen McCarty, Online Content and Marketing Manager
Today, on what would have been the visionary Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s 84th birthday, HRC commemorates the civil rights activist’s legacy.
Each year, Americans honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s commitment to service by donating time to service their neighbors and communities.
This year, join HRC volunteers across the country for a service project to benefit LGBT homeless youth, who make up 40 percent of homeless and at-risk youth.
To find out more, read HRC’s LGBT Youth Report and to get involved with HRC’s Day of Service project visit www.hrc.org/MLKDayofService.
Do you have plans for service this weekend? HRC wants to see how you're commemorating MLK Day of Service. Check us out on Instagram and send us your photos using #DayofService. We'll repost some of our favorites.
