Equality Bus Heads for Final Tour Stop
October 25, 2011 by Maureen McCarty, HRC Associate Director of Digital Media
Tomorrow the road to equality leads the HRC bus to Orlando, Florida for an open house on University of Central Florida’s campus. Florida is the last state on the equality tour, and we can’t help but be a little nostalgic.
We’ve travelled to 13 states over the course of 12 weeks, hosting workshops, briefings, dance parties, open houses, 5K races, and so much more, in an effort to connect and empower local individuals in every way possible.
Our tireless work over the past few months, fostering new connections with individuals, raising funds and visibility for local organizations, and building relationships with local government officials, is just the beginning.
HRC's “On the Road to Equality” tour has set the wheels of change in motion. It’s been an amazing journey, but the tour isn’t an end unto itself. Our members and supporters are continuing to advocate for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law and increasing public support for fairness among all Americans.
Join them today and stay tuned to HRC’s blog as we look back on the tour’s inspiring achievements.
