Constituents Tell Sen. Hatch: It’s Time for ENDA

Post submitted by Christian Whipple, one of HRC's organizers on the ground in Utah.
Last week, Rebekah Crotty and I were joined by a couple members of the HRC Utah steering committee at Senator Hatch’s office in the Wallace F. Bennett Federal Building in downtown Salt Lake City. We dropped off nearly 3,300 constituent contacts in support of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).
Alli Martin is a straight ally and amazing volunteer. Her husband and seven year old son work with HRC at Pride, one of the country’s largest and within the LGBT community here in Salt Lake City.
The Senator wasn’t in the office, but a brief meeting with some of his staff indicated the significance of the bill and how Senator Hatch will be carefully considering his vote on ENDA.
There’s still time to make your voice heard, now more than ever. The Senate is expected to vote sometime this week, and Senator Hatch needs to hear from you. Click here to send a letter to your US Senator.
