Help Protect State Employees in Virginia
February 4, 2010
Today, the Virginia State Senate is expected to vote on SB 66 which would prohibit discrimination for state employees based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, as well as race, age, national origin and other protected categories. If you live in Virginia, please call your state Senator and ask him or her to vote in favor of this important measure which is supported by the vast majority of Virginians. Our friends at Equality Virginia are working hard to pass this legislation. Polling has demonstrated that 90% of Virginians believe that LGBT people should be able work for the government and 85% believe that those employees should be protected from discriminatory practices. You can watch the vote live here.
