October 9, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Coordinator
Just weeks before voters decide the fate of marriage equality in Maryland, HRC is proud to announce that Maryland governor and equality supporter Martin O’Malley will be a featured guest at our upcoming Chefs for Equality event. The event will also be emceed by fashion icon and television personality Tim Gunn.
Chefs for Equality is an evening of food, cocktails, fashion, music and an extraordinary auction raising awareness and critical funds for the fight to defend marriage equality in Maryland. HRC is teaming up with food columnist David Hagedorn to host this event on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C. beginning at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by DJ Shea Van Horn.
This once in a lifetime culinary event will feature more than 60 of DC’s top culinary chefs and mixologists.
Nine Personal Chef tables are also available for auction right now, where award-winning chefs will work in pairs to cook five-course menus for tables of eight right in the middle of the action. Learn more here.
We’re thrilled to have so many of the D.C. area’s culinary leaders join us in support of LGBT equality. We hope you can join us too on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Washington, D.C. Learn more and reserve your ticket at chefsforequality.org.
You can also buy separate tickets here for the not-to-be-missed Chefs for Equality after-party at Graffiato Restaurant, owned by Top Chef contestant Mike Isabella.
