Getting Help from our Maine Volunteers
August 24, 2012 by HRC staff
The following post comes from HRC Phone Bank Coordinator Kate Kramer:
With only 73 days until the election, now is the time to get involved. Another group of volunteers did just that last night by attending an HRC phone bank. We talked to 175 supporters about why marriage equality matters to them and encouraged them to vote early and volunteer with the campaign.
These person-to-person calls are the single most effective way to mobilize our supporters. To get involved in Maine, contact Senior Regional Field Organizer Karl Bach ([email protected]) about upcoming events. If you are in the DC area, bring a friend or two and join us for our next set of phone banks on Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30. We start each session with a brief training and provide scripts, so you’ll know exactly what to say. To RSVP, please contact Kate Kramer at [email protected].
No matter where you live, you can make a difference in Maine. HRC has set up a special fund – HRC Maine Families PAC – to direct 100 percent of your contribution to help win marriage equality in Maine. Together, we can mobilize the majority of Mainers who support marriage equality and win at the ballot this November. See you soon!
