Get-Out-The-Vote Efforts Begin in Anchorage

On Saturday, dozens upon dozens of volunteers poured into the One Anchorage campaign offices to kick off GOTV efforts for the YES on Prop 5 campaign.  While our opponents are resorting to their dirty tricks attacking transgender people and playing on the voters fears of the unknown, our campaign is organized, focused, disciplined and committed to our positive message.  We’re having thousands of conversations each day with Alaskans re-enforcing our message that all people in Anchorage should be treated with equal dignity and respect, and no one should be fired or denied housing simply because of who they are.

Our positive, hopeful approach has resonated with voters and we’ve identified enough supporters to win as long as we can turn them out to vote.  That’s why supporters are turning out to make phone calls and talk to voters.  If you’d like to help with our phone program in Anchorage – even if you live in the lower 48 – we can get you set up to make calls from home using our online automated system.  Contact Maggie Thompson at Maggie.Thompson@hrc.org to get started today!
