Gay Marine’s Homecoming Photo Goes Viral

The following post comes from HRC Digital Media Intern Eric Cameron:
A passionate homecoming photo featuring a U.S. Marine and his boyfriend has gone viral.
The photo of Sgt. Brandon Morgan and Dalan Wells was uploaded to Facebook’s Gay Marines group on Saturday. As of this morning, it’s garnered more than 35,000 likes and 8,000 comments.
The public display – and overwhelmingly positive response on Facebook – speaks to the success of the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” a repeal finally implemented last September. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen has lauded repeal for making the U.S. military a more united force. “With implementation of the new law fully in place, we are a stronger joint force, a more tolerant joint force, a force of more character and more honor, more in keeping with our own values."
