Gay Man Discharged Under DADT Selected as Inaugural ‘Citizen Co-Chair’

David Hall, a former Air Force Sergeant discharged under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” has been selected to stand with President Obama as one of eight “citizen co-chairs” highlighting the president’s first-term accomplishments at this weekend’s swearing-in ceremony.
Hall wrote an open letter to President Obama after his discharge as part of SLDN’s “Stories from the Frontlines” campaign. He continues to fight for full LGBT military equality as Director of Development for OutServe-SLDN.
Hall will join openly gay poet Richard Blanco on stage during Monday’s ceremony. Pro-equality Rev. Luis León was recently tapped to deliver the benediction, replacing Pastor Louis Giglio who withdrew his name from the program last week.
