Former MN Governor Jesse Ventura Stands Up for Marriage Equality
September 14, 2012 by HRC staff
This post comes from HRC Editorial and Digital Media Intern Leanne Naramore:
Minnesotans Jesse and Terry Ventura are standing up for marriage equality. The former governor and his wife of 37 years are joining forces with Minnesotans United for All Families (MN United) in the effort to defeat a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage.
Their message: “The Constitution should not be used to oppress people. The Constitution should be used to protect people. Love is by far bigger than government can ever be.”
The Venturas join an ever-growing coalition of Minnesotans working to defeat this proposed amendment, which would blatantly violate LGBT citizens’ civil rights. Get involved with MN United to make your voice heard!
